Playground & Bond Update
We once again want to thank you for your tremendous support of the bond program to install a new playground area and purchase additional HVAC units. We wanted to give you an update on the bond program's status and let you know the general plans going forward.
The FPS Board recently has gone through the financial process of selling the bonds. The financial aspects of the bond program are fairly complicated and detailed but in short, we should receive funds sometime around the middle of March. The playground equipment has been ordered. The expected delivery date is sometime around the end of March. We anticipate installation to take about two weeks. With that being the case, we will have to wait until school is out to start. The installation will involve lots of large vehicles, heavy-duty equipment, etc. We will not be able to have people walking around the area for safety reasons. Playwell, the group we are using to install the playground, has agreed to store the equipment until we are ready for installation. Installation is planned to start May 13, the first Monday we are out for the summer. However, that week is “Flex” week. If we have to use bad weather days, installation may be delayed. Once the playground has been installed, we plan on having some sort of “Playdate,” allowing kids to come check it out!
Part of the bond program is to purchase and install 5 additional HVAC Units. As soon as funding comes through and we have dates where students are not here, we will install the units. We anticipate installation to be over one of the three-day weekends we will have in the spring though we are not quite sure at this time. Barring any sort of setback to this plan, the units should be installed before the temperatures get exceedingly warm.
Please let us know if you have any questions.
