Week of April 6th-10th

No School on Friday!

The Bond Election is one week away! Please remember to vote!

Dear Friend Public School Families,
We want to share information regarding an upcoming school bond election so that all families are aware and prepared to participate.
Election Details
Date: Tuesday, April 7, 2026
Location: Regular polling places
Time: 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
This election will allow voters to consider a $2,400,000 bond issue for Friend Public School.
Proposed Project
If approved, the bond would fund the construction of a three-classroom addition with restrooms that will also serve as a storm shelter.
Why is this being considered?
The new classrooms would replace existing portable classrooms that were intended to be temporary and now require significant repairs.
The classrooms would be built as safe rooms, providing stronger protection during severe weather for all students.
The addition would allow Pre-K and Kindergarten students to be housed with the elementary grades in the same area of the building.
Tax Impact
If the bond passes, there would be an increase in property taxes.
Example: A homeowner currently paying $1,000 per year in school property taxes would pay approximately $95 more annually.
We encourage all eligible voters to take part in this election and make their voices heard.
Thank you for your continued support of Friend Public School and our students.
Sincerely,
We want to share information regarding an upcoming school bond election so that all families are aware and prepared to participate.

Dear Falcon Families,
We recently completed a Risk & Vulnerability Assessment of our campus. We are happy to share that the evaluation showed we are doing a great job in many areas of school safety. At the same time, we believe there is always room for improvement when it comes to protecting our students and staff.
As part of our continued efforts to strengthen safety and consistency, we are reinforcing the following procedures:
All parents and visitors must check in at the main office upon arrival. This has always been our expectation; however, we have had instances where this step was skipped. Moving forward, this procedure must be followed every time.
Please do not go directly to your child’s classroom unless you have been directed to do so by the office.
All visitors will be required to sign in while on campus.
These steps are not about inconvenience. They are about protection. School safety depends on consistent procedures, and safety will always be more important than convenience.
We appreciate your understanding and cooperation as we continue working to provide a safe and secure environment for every student. Thank you for partnering with us to keep Friend School safe.
