Dear Friend Families,

What a great start to the 2026-2027 school year! We have had a wonderful first two days back at Friend School. It has been so good to have our students back in the building, see our classrooms full, and hear kids in the hallways again!

Thank you to our families for helping us have such a great start. We know the beginning of school means getting back into routines, earlier mornings, drop-off and pick-up lines, new teachers, new schedules, and lots of information coming your way. Thank you for being patient with us as we learn new students, new cars, and get everyone into a routine.

I am so proud of our students and staff. Our students have done a great job learning expectations, getting to know their teachers, and settling into their classrooms. Our teachers and staff have worked hard to prepare for this year, and I am thankful for the way they show up every day ready to love our kids, take care of them, and help them learn.

One of my favorite things about Friend School is that we are truly a school family. We know our students. We celebrate them when they do great things, notice when they need a little extra help, and work together to make Friend School the best place it can be.

As we start this school year, our focus continues to be Every Student! Everyday! We want every student to feel safe, loved, supported, and challenged. Of course, we want our students to learn and grow academically, but we also want them to learn to be kind, respectful, responsible, and good people.

We know every day will not be perfect. There will be busy days, fun days, hard days, and probably a few days when things do not go exactly as planned. That is school! But through all of it, we will keep working together and doing what is best for kids.

Please know that my door is always open. If you have a question or concern, reach out to us. We may not always have the answer right away, but we will listen and work together to figure it out.

Thank you for trusting us with your children each day. That is a responsibility we do not take lightly. We have a lot to look forward to this year, and after our first two days, I am even more excited about what is ahead!
