The Need:
To vote on a $2,400,000 School Bond Issue for Friend Public School to construct a three (3) classroom addition with restrooms that will also serve as a storm shelter.

Why is this needed?
• The new classrooms would replace the portable classrooms, which were originally meant to be temporary and now require significant repairs.
• The classrooms would be built as safe rooms, providing stronger protection during severe weather for all students.
• The addition would allow the school to house Pre-K and Kindergarten with the elementary students in the same area of the building.
Tax Impact
If the bond passes, property taxes will increase.
Example:
• A homeowner currently paying $1,000 per year in school property taxes would pay approximately $95 more a year. (see below)
