AGENDA FOR THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE BOARD OF EDUCATION OF DEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT NO. 37,
GRADY COUNTY, OKLAHOMA (FRIEND B/E)
As required by Section 311, Title 25, of the Oklahoma Statutes, notice is given that the Friend Dependent School District No. 37, Grady County, will hold the Regular Board of Education Meeting on April 23, 2019 at 6:30 p.m. The place and street address of the meeting is given as the Friend Board of Education, Library, 1307 County Road 1350, Chickasha, Oklahoma.

4. Recognition of Tonya Martinez, Friend School Support Person of the Year
5 Recognition of PTO Officers
6. Public Comments
Members of the public wishing to speak must sign in with the Clerk of the Board prior to the convening of the Board meeting. The Board reserves the right to limit repetitive comments, comments unrelated to the business of the Board or the total amount of time dedicated to public comment in a single evening. Board members will not respond to questions or comments during public communications.
7. Discussion and possible vote for the reorganization of the Board.
8. Consent Agenda
All of the following items, which concern items of a routine nature normally approved at board meetings, will be approved by one vote unless any board member desires to have a separate vote on any or all of these items. The consent agenda consists of the discussion, consideration, and approval of the following items:
(a) Minutes of the March 28, 2019 Special Board Meeting;
(b) Renew contract with Angel, Johnston, and Blasingame as Friend
School Treasurer for the 2019-2020 school year.
(c) Renew the agreement with Amy Doan, M. Ed. for Speech/Language
Services for the 2019-2020 year.
(d) Renew the Comprehensive Employment Service Agreement with
OSSBA for the 2019-2020 school year.
(e) Renew the service agreement with Alcohol and Drug Testing Inc. for the
2019-2020 school year.
(f) Renew SOCS Connecting Communications License and Service
Agreement.
9. Presentation, discussion and possible vote on a proposal to add
baseball to the sports offered at Friend School.
10. Caroll and Caroll, CPA, to present final exit audit for school year ending
June 30, 2018 and vote accept.
11. Financial Report and discussion and vote to approve encumbrances and payments.
12. Vote to approve application for Temporary Appropriations.
13. Discuss and possible vote in regards to summer pay periods.
14. Discussion and possible vote to purchase upgrading technology in the
Upper Computer Lab through Bond Fund 39.
15. Discussion and possible vote to purchase new computers for teachers and staff.
16. Discussion and possible vote to purchase projectors with boards and speakers to have working Smartboards in all classrooms.
17. Discussion and possible vote to purchase licenses for Microsoft Word 2019 Office.
18. Discuss and possibly vote on obtaining a District Credit Card from Arvest Bank.
19. Update and possible vote on alarm system.
20. Discussion and possible vote to provide opportunity for teachers to participate in professional development and planning during the months of May and June at the rate of $20/hour.
21. Discussion and possible vote to provide opportunity for Cafeteria Workers to attend a summer conference in Norman.
22. Discussion and possible vote for approval of Board Policy GK Use of School Property; GK – R1 Procedure for Use of School Property (Regulations);GK-E1 Request for Use of School Property; and GK – E2 Property User Responsibility Statement Regulation.
23. Discussion and possible vote to adopt school calendar for 2019-2020.
24. New Business - This item is limited to any matter not known about or
which could not have been reasonably foreseen prior to the time of
posting this agenda. [Okla. Stat. Title 25 Section 311 (A)(9)].
